Luka Modric has agreed to stay at Real Madrid, and Toni Kroos is also expected to sign a new contract, putting an end to speculation about their futures at the Bernabeu.

Two of Real Madrid’s iconic players over the past decade are reportedly set to stay in Spain for another season. Modric and Kroos, both of whom are out of contract this summer, still wish to remain part of Carlo Ancelotti’s squad.

Marca, a Spanish publication, recently reported that Real Madrid President Florentino Perez personally oversees contract extension negotiations with this veteran midfield duo.

It is understood that Perez has intervened and successfully concluded deals to retain the two players. He has held several meetings with this duo and has achieved promising results.

Kroos and Modric are almost certain to stay at Real for another season.

Accordingly, Modric has agreed to extend his stay with the Whites for another season. The Croatian international fully accepts that he will primarily play a backup role at the club.

Meanwhile, Kroos has not yet agreed to renew his contract, but according to Marca, it’s only a matter of time. Kroos’s mother has also urged the German midfielder to commit to the Spanish royal club for at least another year.

Despite their limited playing minutes this season, Modric and Kroos have brought invaluable experience and leadership qualities to Real Madrid. Their guidance and winning mentality will ensure that Los Blancos continue to compete at the highest level.
