Philadelphia 76ers thank JIMMY BUTLER in tweet, misspell ‘Butler’

Before Jimmy Butler joins the Miami Heat, the Philadelphia 76ers wanted to express gratitude for his contributions. However, their well-intentioned tweet went awry when they misspelled “Butler” as “Buter.” Despite correctly spelling Butler’s handle and featuring his jersey in the picture, the team’s appreciation tweet took an unexpected turn.

The Twitter gaffe joins the long list of missteps by teams using social media.

In the future, we advise a quick proofread or at the very least checking the player’s handle before sending out a thank you.
