MURYK advises Chelsea fans not to set overly high expectations for him

Mykhaylo Mudryk said that the fact that Chelsea fans have high expectations makes him worried.

Since joining Chelsea for a fee of £88.5 million from Shakhtar Donetsk, Mykhaylo Mudryk has yet to find his identity at his new club.

In his first 15 Premier League matches, Chelsea’s number 10 has only contributed 2 assists and has struggled to score his first goal for the Blues.

Mudryk lacks confidence in himself

Moving into the 2023/24 Premier League season, Mykhaylo Mudryk continued to disappoint, scoring only 7 goals and providing 2 assists in 40 matches across all competitions. Clearly, for the amount Chelsea spent, Mudryk’s performance has not truly convinced the club’s management.

According to Metro, Chelsea fans are eager to see the Ukrainian international reach his full potential in the next season. His contract runs until June 2031, and few teams are willing to meet Chelsea’s asking price for Mykhaylo Mudryk at this time.

A fan with the account @@anishpokharel29 posted on social media with a question for the Chelsea star: “Misha, what can we expect from you for next season?”

Mykhaylo Mudryk responded shortly afterward. The player born in 2001 said, “Expectations are what kill our happiness.”

Mykhaylo Mudryk’s response indicates that he still hasn’t regained his confidence on the pitch. Chelsea’s number 10 possesses great potential for development, but if he continues to disappoint, the likelihood of him being ousted from the club next season will become increasingly apparent.
